What is Hult Prize?

The Hult Prize is the world’s largest student competition for social good. Often called the “Nobel Prize for students”, it challenges young people to create innovative, for-profit startups that address urgent global issues in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each year, more than 100,000 students from universities around the world take part, competing through campus, regional, and global rounds for the chance to win US $1,000,000 in seed funding to launch their idea into reality.

Finalists pitch to an international panel of judges at the Global Finals for a chance to win $1M USD in funding to launch and scale their startup.

NCKU's Participation History

2020
NCKU participated in the Hult Prize campus round for the first time, aligning with the international competition theme SDGs: Sustainable Development Goals, marking the beginning of its involvement.
2024
Successfully hosted the first campus round, attracting nearly 100 student participants. Team Colepis and PetaNetra stood out among 9,400 global teams, advancing to the Global Finals. Hosted Renata Selma Tanan (NCKU Energy Engineering International Bachelor’s student), selected as a finalist for the 2024 Asia-Pacific Campus Director. Continued to host the third campus round, with 23 teams successfully shortlisted.
2025
First time authorized as an official organizing body, with NCKU hosting the first Taiwan Regional Finals. Brought together participants from 10 universities across Taiwan, with a total of 19 teams representing Taiwan in the national competition.
2026
Officially authorized for the second consecutive year to host the event. Establishing NCKU as a key platform for national-level social innovation.

Application Submission Deadline

Registered teams must complete their submission, including: a 4-minute pitch video, a pitch deck, and the questionnaire (sent after registration)
